QUESTION:

I am a mom that loves her kids but wants her body back! Unfortunately, I have no time. I would love to incorporate my workouts into spending time with my kids outdoors. Any ideas?

ANSWER:

Hi “Mom”! Fortunately, you don’t have to give up QT with your kids to get back your rockin’ body! There are so many great ways to take your fitness outdoors!
Depending on how old your kids are, riding bikes is a great way to connect as a family while getting fresh air and skinnier thighs!

  1. Cycling provides great cardio, core stabilization and a fab lower body workout. If you have wee ones, you can pop them in a (green) jogging stroller & get your cardio on!
  1. Hiking as a family is always fun and educational… become uber-mom by elevating your heart rate and teaching your kids about nature. Woo-hoo!

  3. If you live on or near the coast, jumping in the ocean as a family is super fun and a great non-impact form of cardio work. You could even take a few surf lessons while you’re at it for a powerful full body workout!

Taking your fitness outdoors with your kids is a great way to spend quality time together and to develop healthy activities for your kids. So, have them step away from the PS3 and into the adventurous ’real world’ all around them. You Go Girl!
